Make room for baby… #4 – newborn photo session

I was so excited to get the call the day Lincoln, (i.e. Baby #4) made his big debut! We wanted to schedule his Premiere Newborn Session quickly so we could capture all of those precious little newborn fingers and newborn toes!

I have had the privilege of photographing this wonderful family over the years and feel so blessed to be invited into some of their special moments… Grace turning one,  Judah’s newborn session, an extended family photo session! What a joy it is to see them grow up right in front of my lens. I’d have to say one of my favorite sessions was for their Christmas cards when Mom (Jenny) dressed everyone in bright, fun colors and the kids took an “accidental” dip in the fountain!!

This newborn photo session was special in more ways than one… Judah turned TWO!  So of course, I had to bring some colorful balloons for the birthday boy to have in his two year photos! He even got to show off his new bubble maker he received as a gift… it was a BIG hit!

Having three children of my own, I know how important it is to make sure that big brother and sister know they’re not forgotten. That’s why it was important to me to capture images of each sibling alone with the new baby and mom and dad. Even though they all make up the family unit, it’s so vital to me that they can look back and see themselves as an individual as well… and how unique and valuable they are!

Some personal favorites of mine… I adored the sweet interaction between Grace and her mom as they were being silly! I also can’t get enough of baby Lincoln’s little toes peeking over the bucket! I couldn’t resist taking pictures of Josiah and their cat. I was coming inside to change my lens and Josiah was watching cartoons while holding the kitty and eating a sucker. The kitty playfully batted the stick until taking a bite himself! Towards the end of the session, Grace came out in her ballet clothes as she was getting ready to go to her dance class. I must say, there’s nothing sweeter than a little girl in a tutu!

On a little side note, my daughter just started a furniture refinishing business using CeCe Caldwell’s chalk paint. During her recent visit, she wanted to show me how easy and fun it was to use this paint. So we found  two chairs at the thrift store and had a blast painting them in a fun green and yellow color. I couldn’t believe how easy it was and I look forward to painting some more fun pieces for my photography!

Wow… I know I say this a lot, but I absolutely LOVE my job! I am so very blessed to know so many amazing clients and to be invited into their lives to provide them with precious, treasured memories that will last forever!

Congratulations (again!) Tory and Jenny! You both are amazing parents and have such a precious family!
