Welcome, Baby Parker! What a joy it was to photograph this adorable little guy for his newborn session! I’ve had the privilege of knowing his Great-Grandparents, Grandma and mom for years!
Parker Wayne Soto was born April 30, 2017. He weighed 9 pounds 1 ounce, and was 20 3/4 inches long. He is one adorably, chubby baby, I might add, so cuddly and “squishy” to hold!
When Parker was just a few hours old, I visited the hospital to take a few images. To my delight, I was able to capture a very special moment with all 5 generations together! Such a treasure!
While I was at the hospital, they conducted his hearing test and then the nurse took him back to do some additional tests due to a heart murmur they detected. When Parker returned to the room, the nurse said his oxygen levels were perfect but to be safe, they took an echocardiogram. That afternoon, they whisked him away to Phoenix Children’s Hospital as they discovered he had a 90% blockage of his aorta. Parker had a procedure where they dilated the aorta so the blood moves as normally as possible. He came through the procedure like a rockstar! He will eventually need a valve replacement, in the meantime, the doctors are taking great care of him.
Parker and his beautiful mom, Kylie, were such a delight to photograph! We had some fun “outtakes” during his session. At one point during his session, I was photographing Parker on our bed and he began to cry. In no time at all, one of our Miniature Schnauzers came to his rescue to make sure he was OK! (It’s a good thing they are dog lovers!) In the studio, this nine day old newborn captured my heart as I got to sneak in lots of snuggles. I also happened to capture the dreaded baby “claw”. You know, those lovely times when newborns put their hand up by their eyes and then proceed to clench down and grab their face as hard as they can. Ouch! I remember that happening numerous times with my kids!
It was truly a blessing to watch Kylie interact with her new son. Her love for him is so evident in every image! Congratulations, Kylie. You are blessed to have sweet Parker and such an amazing family to love on him, too!

You are an amazing photographer! I absolutely LOVE ALL of the pictures you took of my grandson Parker and his mommy Kylie!! I am so glad you were able to make it to the hospital to get some super cute photos before life turned upside down and he was rushed to PCH! You will be our photographer now for little Parker!
