What a joy it was to photograph Sienna’s Cake Smash Session! I had the privilege of taking Sienna’s newborn pictures and was so delighted to get this little bundle of joy in front of my camera again!
Sienna’s mom and dad wanted her first birthday pics to be outside which can be a little tricky in Arizona… in August… in a gazillion degree weather. (O.k., maybe not a gazillion degree but pretty close!) We planned for a sunrise session to try and get a little reprieve from the AZ heat. Gotta love clients that are so flexible and so cheerful at 6:15 in the morning!
Sienna’s mom, Lindsay, asked about taking pics at the Queen Creek Olive Mill. I have never photographed there before so when I contacted them to see if that would be ok, I was blown away by their eagerness and kindness in allowing us to photograph at their facility. Queen Creek Olive Mill is a family owned business specializing in growing and producing amazing organic extra virgin oil. While visiting their mill, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner as well! I wanted to give a shout to Lindsay from the Queen Creek Olive Mill for your graciousness!
It was so fun watching Sienna experience her first cake… sugar and all! After the first couple of bites, she began expressing her delight with lots of smiles and lots of “Mmmm’s”! The picture of her laying in the grass after she reached her max says it all! (I think we all can identify with that feeling at one time or another!)

I love reading your blogs and getting an insight into the shoot then seeing the story that you capture with your pictures. Every time I scrolled down I would think I found my favorite picture then the next one would appear! Great job capturing the love and joy of a 1st birthday! Jesse and Lindsay, your love for each other and Sienna shines through.
