Sweet Baby Girl ~ newborn photo session

Ah… nothing more precious than a sweet, newborn baby girl!

Meet Emma Rose, 5 days old and pure loveliness!

Her parents, Chad and Shaina, were such a delight to work with during Emma’s newborn photo session. Emma is their first baby and I must say, they were quite the troopers! (And yes, I had to tell Shaina she didn’t look like she just had a baby 5 days ago!! She looks absolutely amazing!)

I just love this little angel’s name ~ Emma Rose. I asked her parents if her name had any special significance to them and they said they named her Emma after Emmanuel {God with us}! I absolutely love that! But then they added, it wasn’t until after they picked her name that they discovered Shaina’s maternal great-grandmother’s name was Rose Emma. To make this legacy even more meaningful, the necklace Emma Rose is wearing belonged to her great-great-grandmother ~ Rose Emma! I just love how God weaves our lives together in unexpected ways!

Another important heritage in Emma’s life is music and I had so much fun incorporating her dad’s guitar into her newborn photo session. ***Just a note: the image of Emma on the guitar is actually a composite of two images. I had dad hold and support Emma’s upper body on the guitar then switched to do the same on her lower body. The number one priority in any photo session with a newborn is their safety. (I’ve heard of some instances where newer photographers attempt artistic, creative shots without supporting the infant.) ALWAYS BE SAFE!

Another fun element we incorporated into their session was the fun purple rug. Shaina made the rug by hand before Emma was born. Truly a labor of love when you see it!
