First things first… I’m going to be a Grandma! You can only imagine my uncontainable excitement that our daughter and son-in-law are expecting their first baby! The whole family is waiting on pins and needles to meet the sweet baby boy or girl that is going to change our lives! Recently, Taylor and Nate moved to Hawaii and it is a little sad they will be so far away. However, they relocated from Baltimore, MD…so if we have to travel to see our grandbaby, Hawaii isn’t such a bad location!
It was such an honor and delight to host Taylor’s baby shower. Because they are waiting to find out if they’re having a boy or girl, they chose to go with a neutral pallet in the nursery and received the Sweet Lambie Nursery Bedding from Pottery Barn Kids as a gift. Using the bedding set as an inspiration made planning a gender neutral vintage baby shower so easy… and SO much fun! I not only designed the shower off of the nursery bedding but drew a great deal of inspiration from an adorable first birthday party I came across by Carrie Sellman, founder of The Cake Blog. (Gotta LOVE Pinterest!) The shower also incorporated vintage elements as Taylor has become smitten with vintage and cottage chic design. (She has recently started her own furniture refinishing business in Hawaii, called Dear Olympia Furniture Revivals!)
Taylor’s shower was filled with whimsy, organic textures, warmth and most of all LOVE! I kept the color pallet neutral with warm creams, beiges, browns and whites.
I designed the invitations to kick off our little lamb theme, incorporating the same color pallet with a little bit of whimsy. The craft envelopes were adorned with a wrap return address label that stated “A baby shower for Taylor” on the back.
EDITED: I am now offering my templates for sale! You can purchase the whole set as layered PSD templates to edit yourself or, for an additional fee, I will edit the information for you and send them to you as flattened PDF documents. You can find more information HERE.
The entry way welcomed our guess with a vintage chalkboard, glass table and wooden clipboard displaying Baby H’s ultrasound pic. The doors were adorned with grapevine wreaths I wrapped with chunky yarn and adorable fleece sheep made by Taylor’s grandma. (More on those later!)
The entry way table displayed a treasure of vintage, organic elements that greeted family and friends. My mother-in-law graciously made the adorable yarn letters spelling out B A B Y. As mentioned earlier, she also made the sweet fleece lamb pillows you see throughout the shower. One of my favorite treasures is my grandmother’s baby dedication gown.
When I was in high school, my mom was heading back to her home town, Yankton, SD, for a visit. I knew that my grandma, aunt and mom enjoyed exploring “tag sales” (garage sales to us Arizonans!), so I asked her if she could look for a vintage baby dedication gown for me. Obviously, I was a long way off for needing one, but I have always love the simple design of vintage gowns. To my delight and surprise, she brought this sweet little gown back and told me the story behind it. To many, acquiring a family heirloom may seem natural, but to me, it was such a sweet blessing from the Lord. (Unfortunately, when I was a little girl, we lost everything we had when our house burned to the ground, so heirlooms such as this is huge in my life!)
Above the table hung a twine clothesline with white, cream and beige baby items. The pom-poms were made from coffee filters. I used white and natural filters in two different sizes. I also lightly died some white filters in coffee to create a beige look. I had so much fun making these… a little time consuming but super easy!
[…] ‘R Us. Thanks to our generous friends and family, we stocked up using gift cards from our incredible baby shower thrown by my mom. That night we put the final touches on the nursery (pictures to come). We set up the car seat […]
As always, everything was spectacularly and artfully decorated and the shower was a shower of love for not only Taylor and Baby H but love for you as well. It was so perfect!
Thanks so much Julie! I always appreciate your kind words!
Hi!!! LOVE this shower…just perfect, down to every last detail. I am currently planning a gender neutral baby shower and using a lot of your shower for inspiration. Do you happen to remember where you got the green wreath? What is used to hang the sonogram pictures on?
Thanks!
Jessica
Hi Jessica! Thanks so much for your kind words! I can’t recall exactly where I got the wreath but I’m thinking it was Hobby Lobby when they had their spring things out. As far as the wooden display board the sonogram pictures are on, I bought that at a local craft boutique in Mesa called The Rustic Hutch. Don’t know if you’re local or not but they usually stock them in several different colors. Have fun with your shower… I would love to see some pics! Jennifer
Beautiful shower! I am planning a shower with a lamb theme and so glad I found your blog for ideas. Can you tell me where you got the picket fence boxes or if you made them? Thank you!
Hello
We just love this rustic, simple neutral theme. We are using your ideas for inspiration. Do you know where I can get a template for the invitations you used or did you make them yourself? Thanks for your help.
Hello, I love all the neutral, organic colors and materials used in this shower. It has a very classy vintage feel. I am wondering about the invitations. Do you know where you found the template? Thanks,
Mary
Hi Mary! Thank you so much for your kind comments regarding the shower! I actually created the invitation and address labels myself as well as the tags for the cookies. I have had some inquiries regarding the template and have decided to offer them for sale as layered, editable photoshop templates. I am still out of town but will be back next week. If you are interested in purchasing them, send me an email at jennifer@jenniferjonesphoto.com and I will get back with you with more information.

Hi Vicki! My sister actually found the picket fence boxes a year prior to the shower at a local boutique store. I have seen similar boxes during the Easter/spring season but am wondering if it wouldn’t be too difficult to make them… it’s a wonder what some white paint and a hot glue gun can do! Good luck and let me know if you end up finding some or making them yourself! (I’m sure others would love to know too!)
So cute! I was wondering where you got the ribbon knobby yarn. Great job!
Hi Shaz! Thanks for stopping by! I’m pretty sure I bought the knobby yarn at Jo Ann’s.
You did such an amazing work on this! I would love to purchase your templates for the invites and the name tags! So cute! Please let me know if I can purchase them! staceyannturner@gmail.com
Thank you Stacey! And thanks for purchasing the template set! So excited for you to use them! Remember to send me some pics!

Wow! What an amazing idea.. We are planning a baby shower for my niece and we are using a lot of your ideas.. I wonder if you could tell me where did you get the stuffed lamb or you did it yourself. If you did it yourself, could you sell me the template and a brifly how-to-do” please?
At the same time, I would like to inquire about the template set for the invitations, if you please?
Thank you!!!
Sorry, I meant “briefly”. My email address is mvalonso75@hotmail.com.

Beautiful! I have a granddaughter in February! Thanks for giving me new, fresh ideas for a baby shower!
Thanks for stopping by, Debbie! Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your granddaughter! What an amazing gift!
Greetings, Jennifer !
Re: dying the coffee filters, if I wanted to have a lavender/purple with grey color scheme, can you tell me how to go about dying the white filters either of those colors: grey or purple/lavender? Much appreciation for the fabulous ideas, and hope to hear from you soon.
Michele
Where did you get the mini mustache stickers?
Hi Kate! Sorry for the delayed response… I just saw that my site put your comment under waiting to be approved” and I never saw the notification! I bought the little mustache stickers from Hobby Lobby. Hope it’s not too late!!
Hi Jennifer! Love the lamb theme. When you purchase the template is it all of the lamb ideas, or can you just purchase some of them? I am interested in the Thank Ewe tags to go on cookies. So cute! Unfortunately, I just found your site after already sending out the invites, etc.
I would love to have my baby shower like this. Where can I get those beautiful decorations?
Hi Kathy! Thanks for stopping by! My Vintage Lamb Templates are only available as a complete set and cannot be purchased individually at this time. Unfortunately, that doesn’t help your situation since you’ve already ordered the invitations but I hope you are able to use some of the other ideas for your shower! Have fun!!
Hi Aimee! Thanks for taking time to look over my Vintage Lamb post! Many of the decorations were handmade which I included some of the links to the directions in my post. Don’t hesitate to send me an email if you have any further questions regarding the decorations! (And CONGRATULATIONS!)
Hi! I’m planning a shower for my sister. Any idea where you got the BABY garland made of burlap?? GORGEOUS shower!
What was used and how did you make the lambs on the cake and center pieces? My step daughter loves this. I want to check on purchasing the invitations as well. Do they come with the labels for the cookies as well?
Hi,
I LOVE your theme and all of your ideas. Where did you find the little lamb for the cake top? I’ve been searching but cannot find cute little lamb figures for anything.
Hi! I apologize for the delay in my response but I just discovered your comment! I purchased the burlap garland already assembled at a craft store then used iron on white letters for the “B-A-B-Y”. (Also found at a craft store.) I’m not sure which store but it would be Michael’s, Hobby Lobby or JoAnn’s!
Hi Diona! Sorry for the delay… I just discovered your comment! The paper lambs were purchased from Pier One during the Easter season. (They had some similar paper lambs this last Easter as well.) Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to track any down now. If you know you may decorate any future showers using this type of them, keep a look out in the spring!
Hi Cindy! Thank you for your kind words! Because my daughter’s shower was in the spring, I was fortunate enough to stumble upon these sweet paper lambs from Pier One Imports! Since then, the only time I have seen them was during the following year at spring. I also had a client find some similar paper lambs on Amazon but they are no longer available. Sorry I couldn’t be more help!
Can you tell me where you got the cottonball-like ribbon on the cake and napkin rings?
Hi Angela! I’m pretty sure I bought that yarn at Michaels. Not sure if they still carry it but it was by their more “organic” yarns. Hope that helps!
Love your shower! Can you tell me where you got the tablecloths and what color they are?
Thanks!
Hey Jennifer, can you please tell me where did you find all of this lamb decoration and the tags???
Thank you!
//Lu Guerieri
Hi Lu! I made a lot of the decorations myself and found several accessories at places like Pier One Imports, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels. Because the shower was around Easter time, it was easy to find lamb themed decor. I designed all of the printable pieces such as the tags, etc. If you’re interested, I have the templates for sale here: http://clients.jenniferjonesphoto.com/vintagelamb
Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by! I ordered the tablecloths from a local party rental business in ivory.
Hi Jennifer, where did you get the little lamb on the top of the cake and on the tables?
Hi Desiree! I bought the lambs from Pier One Imports during the Easter season. I’ve tried to search online for others but haven’t been successful. I hope you can hunt one down!
Hello Jennifer,
I just love your baby shower!!! It was amazing!!! I am doing my own baby shower and I would love to have the fence like yours but I can’t find anything like that. Would you mind sharing where you bought it?
I really enjoyed your post, thanks for sharing it with the world!!!
Elaine
Hi Elaine! Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments! My sister actually found the white picket fence “boxes” a few years ago at a local boutique (and on clearance to boot)! I haven’t seen other boxes quite like these but springtime is a good time to keep your eyes open for all things “Vintage Lamb”! Good Luck!
where did you hosted the baby shower? I liked the location for my first baby shower.
Congratulations on baby! My daughter’s baby shower is in April and we both fell in love with your color scheme and decor. We got so many great ideas from your pictures, thank you so much for posting them! I would like those tissue pom poms but I dont think I could make them so nice. Also for some reason tan and brown tissue paper is hard to find. So I will be ordering online. Do you have any suggestions what sites?
Hello Jennifer!! My name is Betsy and I’m planning my baby shower, I’m having a boy and I fell in love with this lamb theme baby shower. I have a question where did you get the ivory yarn that is on the cake and silverware?? I can’t find it
This is literally my dream baby shower! I LOVE it! You did a beautiful job of tying it all together and the vintage touches are just perfect.
As a former event planner, I can’t wait for when my children grow up and I can put on events like you did for your daughter! It feels so much more reasonable to think I’ll have the time and energy to do it once I’m a Grandma! If not, don’t tell me…just let me dream. 🙂
Hi Jennifer. I absolutely Love your little lamb neutral themed baby shower! I was wondering if it would be possible to order your name tags (no customizing) and “dear baby” activity cards? Also wondering where on earth you found the sweet lamb cake topper? So creative! Thanks 🙂
Hi Sofia! The baby shower was actually hosted in my home! Thanks for stopping by and many congrats on your first baby… such a miracle!
Hi Christina! Thank you for your kind words! I’m so glad you were able to gather some ideas for your daughter’s baby shower. The coffee filter pom pons are pretty fail proof to make other than being time consuming. As for the different colors of coffee filters, I used white and natural coffee filters and for the lighter shade of tan, I just soaked some of the white filters in coffee to give them a hint of cream color. I haven’t researched the best places to buy tissue pom pons but it seems like there are quite a few businesses out there now that specialize in this type of look. Good luck and congratulations… Grandma!
Hi Betsy! Congratulations on your baby boy! So glad you found my post and love the shower! I found the white knobby yarn at either Michaels or JoAnn’s Fabrics but it was a couple years ago.Sorry I couldn’t be of any more help. Good luck!
Hi Natasha! Thanks you for your kind comments! (And I am so humbled to know you were an event planner at that!) I had so much fun planning and creating my daughter’s shower and yes, it is different when your kids are older! Things are still crazy but what a joy it is to come into this amazing season of life!!
Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m so glad you enjoyed all the details of the shower! Concerning the name tags and activity cards, I don’t sell the printed items separately but you can get the set (with no customization) for $25. Check out the link included in my post if you’re interested. Thanks again for stopping by!
Hello, I absolutely love this theme, so adorable! I am planning to do something very similar for my daughter’s shower and would love to know where you purchased the little lambs in the bathroom photo!
Hi Colleen! Thanks so much for your kind comment regarding the shower! The little ceramic lambs were bought by my mother-in-law at Hobby Lobby. I’m not sure if they still carry the same labs but as we approach spring and Easter, now is a great time to acquire items that would fit beautifully into this Vintage Lamb themed shower. Good luck with your daughter’s shower… enjoy every moment!
I’m having my daughters baby shower I have no clue can you help me where to start or where to buy the stuff.
Did you make the white picket fence “trays’ on each table? Do you have a tutorial on making them or a supply list? I am planning a lamb theme shower and would like to incorporate this idea onto the buffet table.
HI! I didn’t make the picket fence trays. My sister found them years ago at a boutique store. Unfortunately, I’ve never seen them since but you may want to try searching Amazon. Good luck!
Hi Dora! How exciting to be hosting your daughter’s baby shower… congratulations! If you are interested in re-creating parts of my Vintage Lamb Shower, I have several links contained in my blog post with tutorials on how I made many of the decorations used in my daughter’s shower. Also, I have a link to purchase the templates as PDF files for you to have printed yourself or you can purchase the actual lamb invitations from me as well. If you are familiar with Pinterest, I would start there and begin collection ideas and tutorials on how to make decorations and such for the shower. I hope that helps and good luck with everything!
Hi Jennifer,
I LOVE your lamb themed shower! But, I was wondering if you could actually print those cute die cute invitations for me if I email you the information for my shower and, of course, pay you for printing and sending the finished invitations (+ thank ewe tags and cards)??
Thanks so much!
Patty
Nice
Thank you!
What an elegant shower! My granddaughter is due in November, and her Mama does not like pink! So many great ideas here. Thank you!
hi, I just want to say that this is so beautiful!! I want to do something similar, what type of tablecloths did you use? Plastic? Thanks
Loved everything about the babyshower, I was wondering were did you find the cage like thing, pictured in the bathroom.
Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for sharing the beautiful decorations! Were did you get the cake topper? Is that the same lamb used on the tables as center pieces as well? 🙂
Hi Dorene! Congratulations on your upcoming great-grandchild! Thanks for stopping by and your lovely comments!
Hi Laura! Thank you so much! We actually rented the tablecloths from a local party rental company and used cream cloth tablecloths. Good luck!
Hi Catalina! Thanks for your kind comment! I think I purchased that candle holder at either Homegoods or Hobby Lobby.
Hi!Thanks for stopping by! Yes, I used the same lamb as in the centerpieces. I purchased them years ago around Easter time at Pier 1 Imports.
how did you make little lamb for cake topper and also used for table decoration.. or if purchased, where did you get them from?’
Thank you for your great ideas.
My sister and I loved this baby shower theme. I’m organizing baby shower party for her and will be using this as inspiration board. Thanks for sharing! cheers
Novita, Thanks so much for your kind comments! What an exciting time for you and your sister… enjoy every moment!
Hi! I purchased the cake topper several years age at Pier One Imports. It was during Easter so it was a seasonal item. Thanks for “stopping by”!
Beautiful shower, every detail is PERFECT!
Want to know how you died the coffee filters and how they were made
love this!
Thanks, Jennifer!
Hi Veronica! I included a link in my blogpost to instructions on how to die the coffee filters and make the pom-pons. Good luck!
Thanks SO much, Debra!!
Hi. Where did you get the dear baby notecards? Thank you-Traci
Hi Traci! I designed and created the notecards myself. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi there, the shower you put together for your daughter is absolutely beautiful. I’m looking for the same color linens that you used. Do you have an idea what color they are?
Hi Heather! Thank you so much! I rented the tablecloths and they were listed as being ivory. Although they were a little more ecru color to me. Hope that helps!
I love this shower theme!!!! I wanted to do the knobby yarn but can’t find it…
Hi Sonya!
I purchased the knobby yarn on sale at a Craft store several years ago. I’m not sure who would carry it now. Sorry i couldn’t more help!
Hello… I love the both bears hanging from the clothes line. Please tell me where you got them. Thank you!
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! I believe the two bears were from a friend… sorry I couldn’t be more help!
Love this…so cute!! Where did you purchase the felt lambs? Or did you make them?
Love love this! Where did you find that white outfit with the cow head… I want one!
Hi DeAnna! It’s been such a long time since the shower, I’m having a hard time remembering where I bought that little outfit1 I’m thinking it was TJ Maxx or Marshall’s!
I am so inspired! I’m hosting my sweet niece’s baby shower in November. I love this theme and it will be perfect in my home! Thx for sharing!
Thanks so much, Nancy!
