I had so much fun creating my “A is for Adair” custom ABC Board Book! Because my granddaughter, Adair, is entering the wonderful world of letter recognition, I wanted to create a fun way to reinforce her letters as well as provide a wonderful keepsake for her and those who love her. (Huge bonus… these made awesome Christmas presents for my family!)
When planning for her ABC Board Book photo sessions, I tried to find items that were meaningful to her in her little two year old world. Because most toddlers have zero tolerance to sit in front of a camera, I spread out her sessions over a two week period to try and make it as fun as possible. I strategically saved the “Ii is for Ice Cream” page for the very last shoot! I think that was her favorite!
As far as my personal favorite… well, I have to confess, it’s “Uu is for Unhappy”. I had an image already photographed using “upside down” for Uu but at the end of one particular sessions, she had had enough. Oh my goodness, the heartfelt sense of despair that I captured with one click was too much not to use. Sometimes life is hard for a little toddler and for us adults as well! (Have you ever felt “Uu is for unhappy”?)
I found a great company, Pint Size Productions, that I could design my own book and upload the custom designs for print. The only glitch was their custom template only allowed for a certain number of pages so I had to double up on W, X, Y and Z!
Adair LOVES looking at her ABC book! I mean, what toddler wouldn’t love looking at a book of themselves holding some of their very favorite things in the world? And how perfectectly awesome that her name happens to start with an “A”? (Kudos to her mom for that one!)
Anyway, I wanted to share my “A is for Adair” book with you and encourage you to continue to capture those “littles” in your life… they grow up way too fast!
Every picture is a reminder of what is special to Adair in her world! What a keepsake to treasure and over the years remember what filled her 2 year old life with happiness… and maybe a little unhappiness! Love it!
