Welcome to the world, Baby Stella! Stella Grace Stevens was born on November 6, 2018. She weighed 5 lbs 13 oz and was 18″ long.
Some of you may remember Colt & Ashley from their recent maternity session I photographed at the river. (Which they totally rocked!) Well, their little miracle is here! Their Newborn Lifestyle Session was so special and filled with such an overwhelming sense of gratitude to the Lord and I’d like to share a part of their story in their own words:
Ashley: “God has worked His miracles thru my whole life but when I first met my husband at coffee on our first date, the doctors had told him he wasn’t able to have kids. He came to terms that it never would be possible for him.
I refused to believe that, so after going to more doctors and thru prayer over the last 3 years, it finally became true and the doctors told him he was able. After finding out he was able to have kids, then we got the news that I wasn’t able. This was devastating to me. I had a hard time wrapping my head around it and coming to the reality that I wasn’t able to have children. With my husband by my side, started asking our doctors what we could do and we were sent to a clinic. We began the IVF process and after 6 months of shots every morning and ultrasounds, we were pregnant thru the IVF process! My heart was soo filled! I dropped to my knees and was in shock. I thank the Lord every day for what He has given me. He has never let me down!”
Ashley kept her empty IVF shots because she wanted to incorporate them into Stella’s newborn pictures as a testament to what God has done through this process. Ashley recognizes not everyone who goes through the IVF process has the same outcome as she and Colt have had. Her heart breaks for those struggling with infertility and hopes to be a source of support for those in need.
When photographing a Lifestyle Newborn Session, I love when I’m able to capture other relationships too. Colt’s mom had come to help out and it was so special being able to take a picture of Stella and her Grandma! The family dog also got in on the action!
You may have already noticed but Baby Stella’s nursery is breathtaking! The beautiful grayscale floral wall is hand painted. It’s absolutely dreamy!
Congratulations, Colt & Ashley! Your lives will never be the same. God is SO good!
