Think four:eight {day 19}

Today I was blessed to spend the day with my friend, Candi. I have had the joy of knowing Candi and her husband, Shawn, for several years. They first entered my life when I took newborn pictures of their oldest child, Trenton. Next came Trenton’s little sister, Averi. I have had so much fun transitioning from photo shoots of trucks and overalls to pink bows, pink ruffles and pink tutus! Candi is the queen of everything girly and fashionable! She has even started her own line of handmade gifts and accessories called Baby Glitz.

Candi and her husband, Shawn, are the campus pastors for Chi Alpha Ministries at Arizona State University. Their role in campus ministry has had a huge impact in our children’s lives. Both Taylor and Parker have been actively involved in Chi Alpha thus far and now Tanner is joining the ranks this year!

I can’t even find the words to describe the depth of admiration I have for Shawn and Candi. Their passion and commitment to the students God places in their lives is evident in everything they do. Shawn and Candi not only have a desire to disciple students but to also challenge the students to walk out their daily life with God as they serve others. They strive to create a community of students where anyone is welcome and  students are free to be themselves.

To me, Shawn and Candi are as authentic as you get… they’re the “real deal”!  The call on their lives and the work they are doing for the Kingdom is truly a representation of Philipians 4:8.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
