Meet Hogen.
At the time I took his newborn pictures, he was just 24 hours new! (I left for a trip to Ireland 2 days after Hogen’s newborn session, so I’ve been dying to blog about this little angel!)
Hogen James Gallegos was born July 11th at 7:39 am. He weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20 and 3/4″ long. He was welcomed by his mom and dad and 19 month old big sister, Olivia Lyn! I have known Hogen’s mom, Emily, since she was a little girl and also had the privilege of taking Olivia’s newborn pictures as well!
I loved watching this sweet little family embrace every moment together as they became acquainted with their new little mister. Big sister Olivia carefully examined all that was unfolding, including daddy changing Hogen’s diaper. (Which by the way, is one of my favorite images of the whole session!)
Judy, Emily’s mom and my dear friend, was in her full element as grandma to these two sweet little ones! Hogen makes grandchild #5 for Judy and her husband, Paul, and they couldn’t be more proud!
Judy surprised me with a beautiful knit “cocoon” to use for my newborn sessions, so obviously I had to try it out on baby Hogen! I loved how it photographed!
Congratulations Stev and Emily! What a joy and an an honor it is to capture such a remarkable event in your lives!

Knowing this family personally, you truly captured the complete love and devotion for each other and their family in every picture. The close up of Emily and Hogen is one of my favorites but the observant Olivia watching her baby brother is spectacular, too. Great job and the video is priceless!
